Met on arrival by the Company Representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and transfer to Kandy, the beautiful Hill capital and the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka's royalty. Kandy is surrounded by the lush tropical scenery.

En route visit a Spice Garden to experience spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication.

In the evening see a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of drumming, dancing, music and fire walking followed by a visit to the most sacred place of the Buddhist world, the Dalada Maligawa - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relics of the Lord Buddha.

After breakfast leave for Kitulgala the place famous for White Water Rafting in Sri Lanka.

This high adrenaline adventure on the white water section of the Kelani river, is suitable for first time 'go for it' rafters and experts alike. During the run you will experience the thrill of shooting rapids and the euphoria of making it through. The rivers clear water is born in the heart of the peak wilderness reserve and tumbles through a rocky gorge just above Kitulgala. As the river widens we pass the scenic location used for the film 'Bridge over the River Kwai' which is also a good place to jump in for a refreshing swim.

For those who would like to enjoy the river and its wonderful scenery without the thrills and spills of large rapids, you could raft through the flatter section of the lower gorge.

On completion return to Kandy. In the evening Explore the city of Kandy. Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, a Batik Factory, a Gem Bureau where you will see a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done and then visit a Arts & Crafts Centre. Also drive around the Kandy Lake to see the scenic beauty of the city.

After breakfast leave for Nuwra Eliya, the Tea Garden of Sri Lanka situated 6200ft above the sea level. The hill station of Nuwara Eliya is celebrated for its fresh climate, the wonderful scenery all around, and its "Englishness". Wonderful mountain panoramas surround the wide valley, into which fall many lovely but icy waterfalls. En route visit a Tea Factory, Tea Plantation and Ramboda falls in Ramboda.

Take a brief city tour of the hill station. On completion leave for Ella. Check-in at your hotel in Ella.

Ella is a small town is used as a base for plenty of trekking expeditions to the surrounding countryside. A taste of the breathtaking scenery of Ella could be had, if you just walk into the Garden of the Grand Ella Hotel, where you seem to be standing at the edge of the world, and everything around you seems to disappear at your feet. Some of the places you could see in Ella are the Ella Gap, Ravana Ella Falls, Little Adam's Peak and Bambaragala Peak among the other many varied pleasant walks with stunning scenery.

Day 04 ELLA / YALA

After breakfast leave for Yala via Wellawaya. Check-in to your hotel in Yala. In the afternoon visit the Yala National Park which is a large wildlife sanctuary and offers the wild life enthusiast and nature lover the opportunity to observe a great variety of fauna and flora. On your tour you will have opportunity to see Leopards, Bears, Sambhurs, Wild Boar and Elephants.

After breakfast leave for Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. En route visit Galle, the southern sea-port capital and perhaps one of the most important cities on the South Coast. Now fast acquiring a reputation as the starting point of Sri Lanka's equivalent to the "Riviera", the city's origins are shrouded in legend and mystery. Some believe that it is the Tarshish of the Old Testament, which channelled a thriving trade in exotic luxuries including precious metals and stones, ivory, tropical beasts and of course spices. This whitewashed town has an extremely large fort, built by the Dutch over 400 years ago, as its oldest landmark. A number of important churches are located within the fort, including the Groote Kerk, the oldest Protestant church in Sri Lanka.

Proceed to Colombo via Southern Highway and check-in to your hotel.

In the afternoon take a sightseeing tour of Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100- year-old clock tower and several British built colonial Buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar - where one can shop for bargain, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, a gift from people of the China.
