Day 01 ARRIVAL / WASKADUWA

Met on arrival by the Company Representative at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and transfer to Waskaduwa.

Check-in to your hotel for overnight stay.

Kalutara near Waskaduwa is a beautiful resort town and offers total relaxation for a tourist with authentic Sri Lankan culture.

The place has an incredible palm fringed beach, tropical scenic views, interesting sights like the Buddhist shrine and an elegant plantation mansion, the Richmond Castle. Whilst here, one can try the mangosteen, a luscious purple fruit with juicy white flesh inside, which can be washed down with a glass of arrack, a local fire water drink made from milky coconut blossom.

Day 02 AT LEISURE IN WASKADUWA

At leisure in your hotel in Hikkaduwa.

Day 03 WASKADUWA / MADU RIVER / GALLE / WASKADUWA

After breakfast leave for Balapitiya. Take a Boat ride on the Madu River. Madu Ganga (Madu River) bordering costal village Balaptiya flows by adding an incomparable beauty to the surrounding. It’s unique in its beauty, hundreds of islets, mangroves, indigenous aquatic birds & fish creates a green heave in front of your eyes.

These enchanting landscapes make people breathless by creating a paradise for their own dreams. This green heritage is a kind of lab for the researches, local & foreign university students & journalists who are discovering the secrets of this treasure.

On completion of visit leave for Galle, home to an International Cricket Stadium and one of the most important cities on the South Coast. Now fast acquiring a reputation as the starting point of Sri Lanka's equivalent to the "Riviera", the city's origins are shrouded in legend and mystery. Some believe that it is the Tarshish of the Old Testament, which channelled a thriving trade in exotic luxuries including precious metals and stones, ivory, tropical beasts and of course spices. This whitewashed town has an extremely large fort, built by the Dutch over 400 years ago, as its oldest landmark. A number of important churches are located within the fort, including the Groote Kerk, the oldest Protestant church in Sri Lanka.

Day 04 WASKADUWA / KITULGALA / WASKADUWA

After breakfast leave for Kitulaga, the place famous for White Water Rafting in Sri Lanka. Participate in White Water Rafting grade 3 rafter rapids down Kelani River. This high adrenaline adventure on the white water section of the Kelani river is suitable for first time 'go for it' rafters and experts alike. During the run you will experience the thrill of shooting rapids and the euphoria of making it through. The rivers clear water is born in the heart of the peak wilderness reserve and tumbles through a rocky gorge just above Kitulgala. As the river widens we pass which is also a good place to jump in for a refreshing swim. The journey ends close to Kitulgala town where food and snacks are available. For those who would like to enjoy the river and its wonderful scenery without the thrills and spills of large rapids raft through the flatter section of the lower gorge.

On completion return to your hotel in Waskaduwa for the overnight stay.

Day 05 WASKADUWA / PINNAWELA / KANDY / WASKADUWA

After breakfast leave for Pinnawela near Kegalle to visit the Elephant Orphanage. Set amongst the verdant hills of Kegalle is a unique orphanage, where the tiny tots weigh in at 60kg and more. It's the world's first and only elephant orphanage established to feed, nurse and house young elephants lost or abandoned by their mothers. Other occupants are elephants displaced from their natural environs by development projects or those found wounded. Visitors could see the baby elephants being fed milk from gigantic feeding bottles, definitely an unforgettable sight! The sanctuary is spread over 25 acres of lush forest with a wide river flowing through it, and is home to more than 90 elephants at present that roam around freely.

On completion leave for Kandy, the beautiful Hill capital and the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka's royalty. Kandy is surrounded by the lush tropical scenery.

Visit the most sacred place of the Buddhist world, the Dalada Maligawa - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relics of the Lord Buddha.

Also explore the city of Kandy. Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, a Batik Factory, a Gem Bureau where you will see a documentary on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done and then visit on Arts & Crafts Centre. Also drive around the Kandy Lake to see the scenic beauty of the city.

Return to your hotel in Waskaduwa for the overnight stay.

Day 06 WASKADUWA / AIRPORT
